Friday "My Town" Shoot-Out - Colors!

Now that you've come to the SW coast of Florida the first stop is a local tourist shop to grab some colorful post cards to send back home, and of course some flip flops. You can't be in Florida without flip flops - they are even formal wear here!

Don't forget to grab a t-shirt or ten to bring back home to your friends!

These are the storm clouds I woke up to this morning. Believe it or not it never even rained! Florida storms can be really weird, within hours the sky clear and sunny. We spent the afternoon at the pool! Crazy isn't it?

Summer break begins!

Whoo-hoo! I am finally officially on my summer break! These last couple of weeks have been rough working the 10 hour days, but today was the last one! Now I have 5 1/2 glorious weeks off! Anyone care to pop a cold one with me in celebration? Cheers! :-)

Wildflower

I posted this photo earlier today for my Monochrome shot. It's so pretty that I thought you should definitely see it in color too for Lisa's Macro Monday and also for Today's Flowers.

This one is from the archives. I think I may have posted this before, but not sure. These beauties grow wild all over my yard during spring, summer and fall - it breaks my heart every time we have to mow the yard. One of these days I'm going to kill off all the grass and just seed my entire yard and let them grow! Don't you agree?

In other news, I won't be around much over the next two weeks. I'm working 10 hour days, but after that I'm on break for close to six glorious weeks!

Friday Photo Flashback

I found this cool photo meme - Friday Photo Flashback. The idea is that we scan and post old photos and tell a little bit about them.

I thought about starting from really, really old photos since I have become the keeper of all the old family albums, but then I decided there is plenty of time for that later. I decided to start with the moment my dream life became a reality - the day my first child was born.

This is a photo taken when the doctor put my daughter in my arms for the first time just seconds after she was born - and after 17 hours of hard labor, no comments about the hair please! :-P

Double Trouble Tuesday

It's time for the photo meme my 11 year old has asked me to host for him (on a trial basis of course). He was looking through my photos for ideas and took notice that I had quite a few things in the archives photographed in pairs. He thought it would make a good photo meme, I thought so too!

Let's all encourage my 11 year old wanna-be photographer and blogger - play along on Double Trouble! As usual around here there are no real rules, it's up for your own interpretation.

We chose this photo showing the double red umbrellas taken at one of our favorite casual waterfront restaurants so I could use it for my Ruby Tuesday entry too - Ha! Even more Double Trouble!
